VanTran Industries – Internship Information
Thank you for your interest in an internship with VanTran Industries.
VanTran has had interns in the past and is interested in having interns in the future. We have been fortunate to have had hard working, responsible and personable interns and believe interns greatly add to our work environment. Internship opportunities are available at our headquarters in Waco, Texas, in our manufacturing, engineering, web design & graphics, sales, and general administrative areas.
The purpose of the program is to provide college students with “hands-on” small manufacturing and general business experience.
Unfortunately, all internships begin as unpaid internships but may transition into paid internships depending on circumstances.
If you are interested in interning with VanTran Industries, contact your college’s (or program department’s) internship coordinator. The coordinator is asked to contact our Recruiting Specialist at nkral@vantran.com for information on setting up an internship relationship with VanTran. We always welcome new relationships with community colleges, technical colleges, and universities.
Depending on the student’s interest and training, the type of work which our interns might undertake are quite varied and may include:
Technical Students: Assisting in one of our manufacturing departments (welding, winding, painting, testing)
Business Students: Research and write market opportunity reports, to assist us in developing new markets.
Engineering Students: Providing assistance to our engineers in electrical transformer design.
Office Administration Students: Provide clerical support for Sales, Accounting, and/or Human Resource.
Web Design/Computer Students: Help maintain social media, web site design, marketing and advertising flyers, develop new technology products.
Marketing Students: Assist Sales in marketing our products.
Each intern will be supervised by a VanTran fulltime employee, who will be responsible for managing assignments.
Interns are required to abide by all office rules and regulations. We work with your class schedule as much as possible, but ask that you commit a minimum of 8 hours per week for the full semester you intern (or the number of hours and weeks required for your college’s internship program).
